New song from their upcoming third album (drop it soon lads pls). @imactuallysofia
Do you know what I mean
He's soooo 😍
Shane McGowan! Hell yeah!
All of the members of FDC seem intelligent, wise old souls. This bodes very well for their future.
True. It's very cool of stupid H.S. and all the shit you're supposed to pretend you are!!! I'l loving this band!! and I'm an old gramma with lots of beautiful grandkids and my husband, who '"dig" all this amazing music!!! "Party On" you old "fogie's"!!!
I'm seeing these guys live this year and I couldn't be any more thrilled.
The more I learn about this band the more I like them.
I try to learn about them a little at a time, but after a few minutes end up watching them perform Big on KEXP, and that's me ready to tackle the day.
Couldn’t focus on the questions , he is so beautiful 😂
Interesting.
I lovw his elf ears , he's absolutely gorgeous ❤❤❤
saw this band live at the wiltern in LA earlier last month, they put on such a great performance, cant wait to see them again
saw them a year ago at the end of summer playing a music festival in switzerland - that gig is stuck in my mind forever, it felt nearly surreal because there was so much energy there can`t even describe it
I like feeling a bit scatterbrained myself that's how some creative ideas do creap in. Love it, ar an gcroithe go deo
Interesting guy
I had a bad car crash in omagh it felt like I was singing tribe by sinead
Been to many punk gigs and fontains at the barrowlands Glasgow was more lively then 75% of them. Such a good live act. Absolutely class ❤
Joy Division Cosplay
Every post-punk band is inspired by Joy Division, for obvious reasons.
@@ourkidof91 Im only being a prick I love Fontaines D.C.
@@IrishPablo94 fair enough fella, sorry for the snarky response.
I know you’re joking but i do think he looks a bit like Ian Curtis
And joy division was doing the velvet underground, and the fall was doing captain beefheart, and captain beefheart was doing howling wolf
wannabe Joy Division
They are better tbh
I love them but they are not better than JD. Not a fucking chance.
'Never let school get in the way of your education'.
Oh my god I love you man then you reference Robert Louis Stevenson… here I’ve wrote you a song. It’s as Irish your getting in a Scottish setting She was giving out Said I don’t give a bollox She says runners I say trainers It’s an Irish wedding in a Scottish setting How are we forgetting Cause you can’t beat an Irish wedding with a Scottish setting How are we forgetting No time for regretting It’s an Irish wedding With a Scottish setting How are we forgetting She clipped my ear Skelped me on the rear Said Keir Stop drinking beer! How are we forgetting It’s an Irish wedding In a Scottish setting How are we forgetting Ya bleedin mad thing How are ye Happy holidays Is it paddy’s day or Burns Or is it us I get missed I get mixed up At an Irish wedding in a Scottish setting I get mixed up The times we can’t ever be forgetting No time for regretting this great wedding of my Irish bride and my Scottish man , in any setting. It’s an Irish wedding in a Scottish setting. Ya bleedin mad thing.
None of these lads are even from Dublin. Their accents are fake. Some of them went to Belvedere college and their manager is involved with Press Up, the folks responsible for Dublin’s slow death. They’re manufactured as fuck
Genius
A good ol Barrow - in - Furness lad 👍
When I was I child my mother used to read to me carriageways, she would read in the tempo of a train! He’s the only person I’ve heard that’s how it should be actually read!!
Absolute babe
Caught the Fontaines DC in Los Angeles at Prima Vera Fest & I can't believe how fresh they sounded!! Really enjoyed their set, cant wait to see them again!
Nice. I'm from Dublin myself not too far from where Grians from, havent caught them live yet but they're next on the list.
I'm an American so hearing his Dublin dialect is wild!!
American accents are more bizarre and weird
It's almost like a seperate country 5,000 miles across the atlantic has a different sounding accent!
Best Wishes,
What a boring interview 🤣
then why are you here. This was very interesting imo
@@JackMorgan06swear, this guy must want Grian doing backflips or something while answering questions??
OK I am older than most commenting but i will say that when I first saw Fontaines DC at Whelan's in Dublin, I was totally hooked. Grain reminded me of the first time I saw Jim Morrison at the Whisky-a-Go-Go in Los Angeles. The poet standing alone on the stage professing his words amid the music created by and surrounded by his band. the poet stands out. He and his words shine.
Wow! You got to see The Doors live at the Whiskey!?? That must have been awesome. What year was it?
Yeah, I’m impressed too!
agreed. I am 53, saw them live last night (opener for Arctic Monkeys). I was babysitting my daughter at the concert, but I became a fan immediately! It reminded me of The Verve, whom I love, especially live!
Word! I am 59, in a post-punk band myself (drummer/vocalist) and I recently discovered these guys as well as Idles (both of whom I think are brilliant). I would KILL to see these guys perform here in Santa Fe or Albuquerque, and would KILL to open for them!...oh, and I am a woman who plays drums. BAM!
:)
@ about 10 mins in He likes Shane McG! thats it Iv heard this & Skinty enough said subbed like a light
Poetry. Shane McGowan body of an American say no more.
No idea what this is or why it was recommended to me. Only clicked so I could comment that the guy who is in the thumbnail has a tiny head.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Robert Louis Stevenson 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 can obviously a very well read young man
I used to think BIMM was a Billy Barry stage school for idiots. How wrong I was. If you are 20 years of age and into music, you are in a very bad way - no investment, no labels, everyone out to rip you off the second you play live. I have come to realise that BIMM is like getting a good producer on board, because most producers have been made redundant. Some of those excellent producers and musicians actually work at BIMM, so in a way, it's like getting the guidance from a good producer and a 21st Century way of meeting like minded musicians - in the 1980s you'd get studio time and investment from a label after you pinned your "bass player wanted" A4 adverts on the steps of Freebird records. This is the new way, and some of the good guys are at BIMM telling these young bands the pitfalls and more importantly, the people to avoid.
It is a bit of a Billy Barry school to be fair. But every now and then someone like grian is bound to randomly go there
They ripped it up in Brooklyn last night
Great stuff -- I'm late to the party as always!

One smart cookie, for sure.

Ha ha hella jealous fella
We're all clowns mate, some are just better at it than others.
Don’t be so hard on yerself😂
one hell of a smart and talented clown
Am sure he's bought his own home now
no, still living rent-free with his parents, home-cooked meals, washing done, that is the life of the young and free
@@jamesbradshaw3389 he lives in an apartment in england now
Up the fucking reds
Very smart and elequent young man
Fontaines D.C. came from Bimm? does that make Bimm cooler or Fontaines D.C. less cool?
hahahaha love it. bit of both i think
Cancels out
Nothing can make fontaines less cool
neither
Really enjoyed this a couple of years ago. Thanks for posting it. 😊
Fantastic, thanks for this
Nice one for uploading this
very cool :)
Obrigado :D
I dont get it, how can they play fluctuate in 2018 when the balance was not out??
well this song could have been written at any time but either way they always reveal new music live early, then release the single, then eventually the album later on
